In the past, not everyone who loves horses has had the opportunity to join a Pony Club as they don’t own a horse. The “Pedestrian Equestrian” program is for everyone, because you do not need to have a horse to participate. You just need to be interested in horses and want to learn more.
You are welcome to join “Northern Suburbs Pony Club” as a Pedestrian Equestrian **. Pedestrian Equestrian membership fees are $10 per person plus annual PCAQ Riding Insurance of $40 and a $100 working bee levy, which is refundable or rolled over at the end of the Pony Club season (if you attend four working bees throughout the year).
As a Pedestrian Equestrian member, you are entitled to participate at all Northern Suburbs Pony Club activities. You are able to join in at all musters (club training days) which are held every second Saturday of the month starting at 8am – 11am (Oct-April) and 9am – 12pm (May – Sept). We also have a muster on the fourth Sunday of each month from 9.30 until 2.00pm.
As a member of Northern Suburbs Pony Club, all PCAQ rules will apply such as when horse riding you need to wear approved riding boots and helmet. At muster days members wear our Pony Club Shirt which is available to purchase for $28 from the Clubhouse.
The muster program will involve horse care sessions on topics such as riding equipment, horse handling, grooming, horse health, common ailments, feeding and choosing a suitable paddock. Horse riding may be available dependant on horse availability.
We look forward to having you join Northern Suburbs Pony Club and share in the many joys of friendship while learning to ride, groom, feed and care for a horse.
** new members need to be approved by the committee at a committee meeting. |
